4/9/2014 (Erie, PA) –Erie VA Medical Center is pleased to announce the groundbreaking ceremony scheduled for Monday, April 14th at 1pm at 2044 Lambrose Lane in Ashtabula. This groundbreaking ceremony will kick-off the construction for the brand new Ashtabula VA Clinic which is expected to be completed this fall.

For more than ten years, NEO Development Corporation, proudly accommodated our clinic, but over the past couple of years, the Ashtabula VA Clinic has expanded, offering more programs and services to the growing number of area Veterans seeking care at the clinic. This new 6,476 square-foot clinic will accommodate for this growth as the Erie VA Medical Center expands efforts to provide specialty care services including telehealth and behavioral health programs. The construction will be overseen by Developer Thomas Kennedy from Professional Development Associates, Inc.

Last year, the Ashtabula VA Clinic served more than 2,300 local Veterans. The clinic provides a wide-range of services including primary care, behavioral health, telehealth programs, on-site phlebotomy, DAV services, and various peer support groups.

The Ashtabula VA Clinic is always accepting new patients. If you served in the military and received an honorable discharge from military service, you may be eligible for VA health care. Call the Ashtabula VA Clinic at 866-463-0912, stop in between 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, or visit to apply for VA health care.

Private Developer Plans 54 Room Hotel Along Bayfront

A private developer is bringing a hotel to the Bayfront Parkway.

A three story, 54 room hotel will be built along the south side of the Bayfront Parkway across from Liberty Park.

It will be a Cobblestone Hotel and is one of five that will be built in the area.

Tom Kennedy is behind the five hotels and is positive his hotel will be a success despite the Erie County Convention Center Authority building one and plans from Scott Enterprises to build one as well.

Construction is expected to be complete in spring or summer of 2015.
